Meet Katy Nicoloso Owner & Head Coach of Gymness
I am a dedicated and passionate gymnastics recreative coach with over a decade of experience in the industry of fitness and training.
I grew up as a competitive athlete in both, gymnastics, and swimming, in my native Venezuela, where I competed nationally for more than a decade. At college level, I decided to leave competitive sports to pursue a Law Degree but continued my involvement in the sports and fitness industry as a coach and an entrepreneur. My first roles in this level of the sport and fitness industry were in aerobics discipline before certificated as a coach and business owner of a successful spinning and fitness studio in Venezuela, where I became a known instructor and had a very fulfilling experience as a business owner for half a decade.
I stop my sport and fitness entrepreneur career to become a mother of two boy, today professionals man and dedicate to our family business at @aluminionicoloso. But decided to resume such satisfying and fulfilling side of my professional life when I moved to Miami with my family in 2017. For the last 5 years I was working as assistant gymnastics recreative coach at Kumanessa Gymnastics in Miami. Such commitment renewed my love for teaching fitness and sport, and decided to open my own program where I can help students reach their full potential both in gymnastics and in life.
My love for teaching fitness and sports to kids goes beyond the mats or the studio. My aspiration as a coach is to empower my students with their own search of excellence through sports. Such purpose is something I share with sons and my husband my principal consultant in Gymness, who is a former Olympian, professional and All-American soccer player, who went on to become a world renown sport technologist (former Vice President of Technology for the 1994 FIFA World Cup and an engineer with a Master Degree in Biomechanics) and an author in the power of sports as a vehicle for humans to reach their maximum physical and ethical excellence.
There is a part of mine that believes that Gymness is a calling for me. I truly hope to be able to transmit my love for gymnastics, fitness and most important, wellness, to every one of my students.
